Ten studios are located on the upper floor of Die Brücke and a further ten studio spaces are provided by the Cologne chocolate museum with the generous help of the Imhoff Foundation. Apart from the studio spaces, the stipendiaries are given the opportunity to present their work in presentations, concerts and readings at the Kunstverein and make their work accessible to a wider audience. Artist-in-Residence
Since 2008 the Kunststiftung NRW (Art Foundation of North Rhine Westfalia) is supporting an international exchange and realising a six-monathly residence in Istanbul, Tel Aviv and Mumbai for artists from North Rhine-Westfalia. As a countermove, international artists is given the opportunity to reside in North Rhine-Westfalia. The grant's objective is to get to know the art world and it's development at the face of the respective place, to make and accentuate contacts, to exchange ideas and to give new impulses to the art world at home after returning. Being a partner to the Kunststiftung NRW, the Kölnischer Kunstverein is since this year providing its apartment for artists to the scholarship holders. The first one residing at the Kölnischer Kunstverein was the Indian artist Shruti Mahajan from Mumbai in 2010, the young photographer Shrutti Garg (*1987) was a guest at the Kunstverein from January to July 2011.
